Plane Passenger Dies After Collapsing on 12-Hour International Flight

A 51-year-old passenger died during a flight from Manchester to Hong Kong, according to Cathay Pacific. The flight had departed Manchester Airport on Thursday, April 23 and landed at the Hong Kong International Airport the following morning. Local police received a report that a passenger had lost consciousness and alerted Hong Kong’s air traffic control. The crew and a doctor on board immediately provided first aid, but the passenger passed away. The man was an insurance broker who had been diagnosed with cancer and frequently traveled between Hong Kong and the U.K. An autopsy is currently underway and the cause of death has not been determined.
