The The Guardian has named Britain's prettiest street for 2026, with Steep Hill in Lincoln being named the winner due to its historic and steep hillside, home to Roman ruins, Norman and Tudor architecture, and numerous shops and businesses. The paper chose thoroughfares with notable features such as a local cheese shop, or a pub. In second place was Rye's Mermaid Street, a cobbled alley known for its Georgian and half-timbered buildings, and Victoria Street in Edinburgh's Victoria Street for bronze. The best pier in Britain has also been named for the year 2026.
