New Mexico native Brian Mendoza lost by unanimous decision to Cuba's Yoenis Tellez in the co-main event of a card at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas. This defeat marks Mendoaza's third defeat in his last four fights. The official scorecards were all in favor of Tellez, with a cumulative record of 79-3. Despite this, Mendeza remains the only fighter to have defeated current WBC super welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora.
