Why another $20 million in NJ state funding is headed to the World Cup

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority has approved an additional $20 million for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This money was allocated to the agency by former Gov. Michael Mandel. The additional funding will be distributed through the agency's board. Mandel is currently working with the Department of Energy.
