Minister considers banning over-the-counter flea treatments for pets

UK ministers are considering restricting access to over-the-counter flea treatments to prescriptions provided by vets and medical professionals if there is an infestation of a pet's fur. This comes amid evidence that these poisons are killing songbirds and contaminating rivers. Water Minister Emma Hardy is launching an eight-week consultation with the industry.
