A 78-year-old woman from Redwood Valley was bitten three times while walking in a rural area on April 8, and later died. This comes after a woman was bitten on March 14 in Wildwood Regional Park in Thousand Oaks. The species of the snake responsible for the incident is unknown. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends avoiding dangerous hiking and hiking while on the night.
