After a confirmed case of measles at Page High School in Arizona, the Page Unified School District is temporarily requiring students to prove their measles vaccination to attend class. Students must be able to prove they have received at least one of two doses of the MMR vaccine and will not be allowed to attend school until April 6, 2026. This decision does not affect any other school in the area. Utah and Arizona have been experiencing a surge in measles cases since the current outbreak began in June 2025, with the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) recording 278 cases and the Utah Department for Health and Human Services recording 443 cases. All cases have been linked to the same outbreak that started in the Northern Arizona and Southern Utah area. The high number of cases can be attributed to low vaccination rates.
