The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is temporarily halting plans to buy more warehouses for immigrant detention, although plans are still on the cards for developing facilities already acquired for this purpose. The decision may be a temporary measure, as it is unclear whether incoming DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin will change the direction of immigration enforcement. The cost of the total purchasing plan is estimated at over $38 billion.
