The 'One Piece' Anime Remake Will Be a Leaner, Modern Adaptation

The One Piece anime adaptation, directed by Spy x Family studio Wit, is set to be produced by Eiichiro Oda and will be directed by George Wada, the president of Wit. The adaptation will be a leaner, modern adaptation of the manga, aiming to appeal to younger fans who dislike the style or "outdated elements" of the early episodes. Toei has been adapting the manga since the late 90s and Wada aims to use "modern techniques" for its adaptation. The One Piece will be produced in 2024, with Wada emphasizing the need for tight pacing and avoidance of unnecessary stretching.
