The latest coffee company, Instant Coffee Supplies Limited, has entered voluntary liquidation, the equivalent of Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the UK. The company, which supplies ground coffee to cafes and larger chains, was established in 2011 and reported £1.08 million in assets and no remaining employees working for it at the time of the filing. The owner's retirement and no successor available to take over the company was also cited as reasons for the voluntary Liquidation. Despite strong demand in both the US and UK, rising costs of energy and coffee have led to smaller chains struggling to stay afloat in the current economy.
