ActBlue CEO may have ‘intentionally misled Congress’ about foreign donations to Dems: GOP

Republican committee chairmen have accused ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace-Jones of intentionally misleading Congress about her platform's safeguards against foreign donations illegally being distributed into US elections. The New York Times report indicated that ActBlue had changed its fraud policy twice during the 2024 campaign cycle, using "more lenient" standards than previous cycles. The House GOP chairman, Bryan Steil, James Comer (R-Ky.) and Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, found that fraud-prevention standards were relaxed in April 2024 and again in September that year, meaning as much as 6.4% of donations could have originated from illicit sources. An ActBlue spokesperson claimed that the company was stable and stronger than ever and continuing to break fundraising records.
