Man accused of murder in assisted-living home appears in court

Johnathen Larson, a 32-year-old man from Anchorage, is accused of murdering a fellow resident at an assisted living home last month. The victim, 41-year old Nicholas Thorne, was found with severe head trauma and a significant amount of blood on the bed. Larsen was indicted on charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter, and criminally negligent homicide. A judge found Larsen incompetent to stand trial for 90 days and his attorney asked the judge to delay entering a plea until his next competency hearing.
