Alfred Sanchez, a 37-year-old man from Las Cruces, has been arrested after his wife, who allegedly berated and physically assaulted her for three hours after she refused to be intimate with him. The victim described how Sanchez allegedly ripped her eyeglasses from her face, choked her, pinned her to the ground, punched her and slammed her head into the ground twice while the children were in the home. Sanchez was later arrested at an apartment complex and charged with aggravated battery against a household member resulting in great bodily harm and four counts of battery against another household member. As of January 2025, Sanchez has an open case with the New Mexico Children, Youth & Families Department.
