The game between the Utah Mammoth and the Washington Capitals was the most physical game of 2026, with a 7-4 loss at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Washington's Tom Wilson set a new career high in single-game penalty minutes with 21, while Utah's Brandon Tanev and Lawson "The Sheriff" Crouse also set a career high with 17 penalty minutes, marking their second-highest PIM game ever. However, Mammoth head coach André Tourigny expressed frustration over the lack of discipline his team displayed in the game. The game was marked by a significant physical game, with Wilson delivering one of the hardest hits you’ll ever see on Jack McBain. Despite the loss, Alex Ovechkin and Vítek Vaněček were the only players to score a hat trick in this game.
