Point State Park fountain roars back before NFL Draft

The $3.4 million renovation of Point State Park's iconic fountain, which was completed ahead of schedule, has reopened a month early as Pittsburgh prepares for the NFL Draft and nation's 250th anniversary celebrations. The improvements, which included modernizing the fountain's electrical and mechanical systems, replaced switchboards and wiring, and installed 270 LED lights. The fountain will no longer have color options, only white. The upgrades are part of Gov. Josh Shapiro's broader 10-year, $600 million plan to revitalize Downtown.
