Facebook tests invasive new photo tools

Facebook is testing new photo tools designed to make sharing easier. The feature, named Meta AI, scans and upload photos and videos from your camera roll to its servers to suggest content you might want to post. Once users opt in, the app scans the entire user's entire camera roll and then sends it to Meta’s servers. This allows Meta AI to create collages, recaps, and themed posts. The company has also added new settings called “custom sharing suggestions” and “camera roll suggestions while browsing, both fed by data from your local gallery. However, security researchers have warned that this could lead to accidental sharing and uploading of private photos without explicit consent.
