Ohio could soon join the race for fusion energy plants

Ohio lawmakers have introduced a bill to define fusion energy and establish a working group to study how the state should regulate it. The legislation would also update state law to recognize fusion and review whether current tax incentives and workforce programs could apply to fusion companies. The bill, which does not mandate fusion, aims to clarify the rules for future fusion energy development and ensure that states that prepare now are ahead of the technology's development. The International Atomic Energy Agency has stated that recreating the sun's power is difficult due to its complexity and high temperatures.
