President Donald Trump has dismissed concerns about a rise in terrorist threats following the outbreak of hostilities in Iran, calling the Texas shooter, Ndiaga Diagne, a "whack job" who fatally shot two people while wearing an Iranian flag shirt. The FBI is investigating whether Diagne was influenced by the conflict in Iran. However, President Trump is confident these incidents were unrelated. The shooter, from Senegal, had entered the United States in 2000 on a B-2 tourist visa and became a permanent resident six years after he entered by marrying a United States citizen. The incident has led to speculation that it may be a lone-wolf domestic terror attack.
