German union IG Metall's deputy head, Juergen Kerner, has called for an IPO of Leopard tank maker KNDS to ensure German-French ownership parity. The company is currently 50-50 owned by the French government and the family owners of Germany's former Krauss-Maffei Wegmann, who plan to sell their entire stake in an IPO expected to take place in June or July. The planned IPO could become one of the biggest in Europe this year and establish KNDS as one of Europe's 10 biggest defence companies.
