Late-winter storms are threatening to bring flooding and high winds to New York City and DC, potentially leading to about 2 inches of rain and possible tornadoes. The Northeast, including the metro region, is also at risk for severe thunderstorms, with gusts potentially reaching 100 mph. The Southwest is also expected to see a record-setting heat wave, with temperatures expected to reach the 90s and possibly break 100 degrees, which would be at least two months ahead of the average. The Midwest has already received around 2 feet of snowfall, with Spalding, Mich., receiving 26 inches and Wausaukee, Wisc., receiving 25 inches.
