Justin Bieber's performance at Coachella on April 11 had been widely speculated due to the $203 million sale of his catalog, which he sold in 2023. The pop star sold 100% of his publishing rights and artist royalties from his master recordings and neighboring rights to 290 songs released before Dec. 31, 2021. However, music industry insiders have dismissed this speculation, stating that there are no restrictions on what an artist can perform any song, including Bieber's own, in live performance. The Daily Mail reported that Bieber briefly performed some of these songs during his set, but he spent most of the first 50 minutes performing songs from his 2025 albums SWAG and SWAG II. Despite recent music catalog sales by major artists, which have increased in recent years, these rumors persist.
