Lawrence Butler and Nick Kurtz scored three runs in a 5-2 victory for the Athletics against Kansas City, breaking the Royals' four-game win streak. Butler's home run gave the Athletics a 4-1 lead, and Kurtz extended his 18th consecutive game with a walk, tying him with Barry Bonds for the longest such streak in nearly 80 years. Luis Severino and Mark Leiter Jr. managed to secure the win, giving up one run and striking out eight in seven innings. The Athletics plan to move to Las Vegas in 2028, opening play at a new ballpark on the Strip.
