Investigators from the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) have called for the Chicago Police Department (CPD) to strip Officer Kenvar Pujoe of his police powers over inappropriate behavior towards female students while he was a part-time security guard at Sullivan High School. Pujo, who was placed on unpaid administrative leave in February, allegedly drove students around in his personal vehicle, paid for their manicures, brought food to their homes as late as 3 a.m. and attended school events and competitions even though the students were not supposed to be attending. In a Feb. 3 memo to Supt. Larry Snelling, COPA’s interim Chief Administrator LaKenya White also recommended Pujoes be removed from his position at the school. The complaint remains pending.
