Sony-owned company, Crunchyroll, has been hit by a major cyberattack, where millions of names, emails, and login details were stolen. The attackers reportedly accessed the Okta SSO account of a support agent, posing as an agent, stealing access to multiple Crunchyrolled systems. They claim they also extracted roughly 8 million support ticket records and 6.8 million unique email addresses. The hackers reportedly sent a $5 million extortion demand to prevent the release of the stolen data. The company did not respond to the ransom demand.
