The Omaha area has been experiencing a warm, hazy Friday afternoon for the weekend, with temperatures expected to reach record highs for the area. Despite the heat, there are concerns about inadequate air quality and potential wildfires. High temperatures are expected throughout the week, with a fire danger and hot temperatures expected for western Nebraska and eastern Iowa. The high for the Omaha area is predicted to reach 83 in OMAHA, a record high 78, and is expected to exceed 90 in the afternoon. Despite this, temperatures are predicted to remain warm throughout the weekend. The Red Flag Warning has been extended to all eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, with an extreme fire danger combined for 11:00 until 4 A.M. on Friday.
