Indian ice cream chain Dumont Creamery & Cafe is set to open its first Illinois store in mid-July at the Block 59 dining and entertainment complex on Route 59. The company's master franchise owner, Sai Uppalapati, stated that the ice cream flavors are more diverse than generic ones found in other stores and are curated based on desserts popular in various countries. The most popular flavor, Lotus Biscoff, represents Belgium. Currently, there are 15 Dumont stores in the U.S. and about 30 under construction in the country. In addition to ice cream, Dumont will also serve coffee and boba.
