The Chinese regime's disaster relief in Guangxi Province in southern China has been inadequate and inefficient, according to a volunteer who spoke with The Epoch Times. Self-organized Chinese volunteers have played a significant role in disaster relief, despite the regime's slow response and providing significant aid to Venezuela's earthquake victims. The ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has announced additional relief funds and measures for the Guangxi flood disaster zones. However, Zhang Jian, a volunteer rescuer, said that state disaster relief hasn't had much of an effect in the devastated region. He also highlighted underestimated the importance of water supply for daily use in the disaster relief effort, highlighting destroyed water supply systems, broken tap water pipes, water towers, and electrical equipment. Zhang suggested that long-term cooperation mechanisms with civilian outdoor groups should be established to deliver urgently needed supplies.
