The Nebraska State Patrol has identified the suspect, 40-year-old Wesley Absher, and the victim, 44, who was identified as Brian Gabel. The suspect was taken to the hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and later kidnapped a female victim from the scene of the shooting and taken to a farm where he assaulted her. The female victim managed to drive herself to the sheriff's office and Absher was transported with life-threatening injuries. The couple, who are currently in a divorce, are reportedly going through a dispute.
