A study by Lund University in Sweden has found that rapid weight gain between the ages 17 and 29 leads to a 70% higher risk of premature death compared to those who maintained a stable weight. The study tracked the weight of over 600,000 people from 1963 to 2015 and found that premature weight gain at a younger age is linked to a higher risk later in life.
