A restaurant in Perth, Australia, has been ordered to pay a $28,000 fine for serving two young customers insect repellent instead of cranberry juice. The incident occurred in June 2024 when sisters Hannah Lemin, 12, and Olivia, 11, were served a pink-colored liquid at Miky's Italian Fusion restaurant, where they thought it was cranberry jive. After sipping the drink, the girls spat it out, claiming it was poisoned. Their father, Marcus, confronted staff member about the use of citronella and an investigation was launched by the Department of Health. The former owner of the restaurant was found guilty of selling unsafe food and failing to exercise due diligence.
