The home is owned by retired engineer Bruce Campbell, who uses it for events and donations, while strictly avoiding alcohol or guns. The incident occurred during a party involving over 200 teens. The plane was converted in 2004 and has been a prominent attraction in the area since then, but some neighbors have complained about its growing nuisance. Campbell bought the plane from a salvage company in 1999 for $100,000 and had it flown from Greece to Oregon in pieces before reassembling it.
