Kelsey O'Driscoll, a former New Jersey track star, was paralyzed after a freak accident five years ago that left her paralyzed at the bottom of a sledding hill. The accident left her with a broken spine and spinal cord damage, which led to a lack of feeling in her feet and severe spinal cord injury. O'Discoll's EMT training helped her assess the situation, and she spent two weeks in rehab at a rehab facility in Schenectady, New York. She is now competing in the Paralympic Games in Italy, where she will be part of Team USA in the Opening Ceremony.
