Acura marks 40 years as pioneer Japanese premium brand

Acura is celebrating its 40th anniversary as the first Japanese premium brand in North America. The company established in 1986 with only 60 dealerships in the country. The first two models, the Legend and Integra, are now considered neo-classics from the '80s and are celebrated by enthusiasts such as Tyson Hugie. The launch of the Integra and the Legend in the late 1980s led to a surge in popularity with the automotive media and early adopters. The brand's innovative design and innovative approach to the car industry elevated its standing in the car world further than anticipated.
