‘It’s my money’: South Florida woman fights 5 years to access stimulus checks

Theresa Polanis, a South Florida woman, has been trying for five years to access stimulus checks sent to millions of Americans during the COVID pandemic. She was recently diagnosed with cancer and turned to Help Me Howard with their determination to access her funds. The first check came in the mail, no problem, but the second and third never showed up. She called police to file a report and more than a year later, the officer found her money in her CashApp account. Despite repeated attempts, she was able to obtain her money. To prove her identity, she must prove she is the person the money was sent to with her driver's license or a government issued ID.
