The weather, rising fuel prices, and a lack of boat activity in Connecticut have kept many boaters from starting their boats in May, traditionally a popular month for the holiday season. At Milford Boat Works, owner Bruce Kuryla said that the cold weather has caused many boats to delay their departure from the docks. Fuel prices have also increased significantly in recent weeks, with many drivers reporting a price increase of one and a half times as much as the previous year. Despite this, boaters have expressed their willingness to go out regardless of the price, although they may not stay out longer or further.
