Double Knot, a new Japanese restaurant that opened at 1251 Sixth Avenue on Midtown's corporate row, has been named the year's best new seafood dish, nabemono. The hot-pot stew, sometimes known as "Japan's bouillabaisse," is the star of the show at the jumbo-sized restaurant. The $41 dish is a combination of mussels, clams, head-on prawns and scallops steamed in sake dashi and the savory Chinese bean paste known as tobanjan. The restaurant features nearly 300 seats on two levels, separate counters for robatayaki and sushi, plus a cocktail bar. The menu offers numerous options, including large cooked dishes priced up to $63 for mineral-rich, grilled Japanese wagyu.
