India's diesel exports to Southeast Asia surged to the highest in over seven years in March, according to shipping data. This surge was due to the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, and traders and refiners benefited from higher profits in Asia. About 1 million metric tons (7.45 million barrels) of diesel was shipped on this trade route, with around half of the volumes bound for Singapore. Analysts suggest that India's Reliance may be one of the main candidates for an alternative supply as Asian buyers increasingly rely on Chinese and northeast Asia. The trade flow is expected to continue until August, with analysts suggesting India's willingness to keep its refineries at full capacity.
