J.J. Abrams' shingle, Bad Robot, has announced it is closing its L.A. office and moving its creative office space to New York. The move was part of a shift in focus to New New York, where Abrams now lives. The company had been a key producer of TV series with shows like Lost, Fringe, Person of Interest and Westworld. Despite a record-setting $250 million deal with WarnerMedia in 2019, the company faced challenges including stalled development of the original sci-fi drama Demimonde and a failed attempt to secure a budget north of $200 million. Abrams is currently focusing on The Great Beyond, his first directed movie since 2019, and the 2028 Dr. Seuss adaptation of the 16th Dr.
