A Bay Area couple charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 2-year-old girl who reportedly overdosed on fentanyl. The incident occurred on Feb. 12 at a San Francisco apartment and occurred shortly after 5 a.m. EST. Police responded to the apartment after receiving a 911 call reporting a child not breathing. Michelle Price, the girl's mother, was seen slurring her speech and having an emotionless demeanor, according to court documents. Her boyfriend, Steve Ramirez, was also found in possession of a pipe and two additional pipes with burnt residue. The blood samples taken from Price and Ramirez showed high levels of methamphetamine and fentanyl in their systems. This is the first time such charges have been brought in a fatal fentanyl overdose case in the county.
