Leota Walker, a woman in Riverside County, California, is suing Starbucks for negligence after a coffee she ordered accidentally spilled on her, leading to second-degree burns on her stomach, inner thighs and private parts. Since then, Walker has spent several weeks in the hospital recovering from surgery and is demanding compensation for her loss in wages and physical and emotional pain. The lawsuit also includes other incidents where customers have expressed concerns over the coffee company's lids. A similar lawsuit was awarded $50 million last year for a similar incident.
