Cubs left-hander Matthew Boyd performed well in chilly weather at Wrigley Field, despite the game being played in 39 degrees with a 21 mph wind. Despite the crowd of 25,125 wearing long-sleeve T-shirts under their uniform, Boyd remained unaffected. He struck out 10 and allowed only two hits (both to Angels shortstop Zach Neto) and two runs (one earned) in 5 innings. Boyd's performance helped the Cubs secure a 6-2 victory over the Angels in the final game of the three-game series. Boyd had previously only worn sleeves in his big-league career.
