Microsoft has released Windows 11 Builds 26100.8106 and 26200.806, which include explicit support for monitors with refresh rates higher than 1,000Hz. The maximum refresh rate may be as high as 5,000 Hz, according to Blur Busters' Mark Rejhon. This move is a significant increase in the ability to support displays with higher refresh rates, which generally cap at about 500Hz or so. Other improvements include improved performance with fingerprint readers and more consistent device cards in the Settings menu. The new Windows update also includes ability to send USB4 docking stations into a super-low-power sleep state while the PC is asleep, reducing power usage.
