SEPTA Retires Mobile Pay, Improves Regional Rail Trip Planning On New App

SEPTA has updated its mobile app to replace its predecessor, Key Tix, and has added more-visible service alerts, clearer schedule pages, and improved Regional Rail trip planning. The update is part of a larger effort to make the mobile experience more intuitive for daily commuters and occasional riders. The changes were made after a significant decrease in demand for the service following the launch of contactless payments. Any purchased before the transition period remains valid for 180 days. The app now provides clearer instructions for passengers on the Regional Rail, informing them when a train continues as a different line.
