Princess Isabella of Denmark, the daughter of King Frederik and Queen Mary, will begin her military service in August as part of a larger effort to increase the country's military numbers. Effective July 2025, women in Denmark will be subject to conscription via lottery for the first time when they turn 18, and the period of conscription for young men and women was also increased from four months to 11 months. The new system is expected to boost the number of personnel to 6,500 people undertaking military service annually by 2033.
