The Southern California News Group has compiled a questionnaire for the 2026 primary election candidates ahead of the June primary election. The questionnaire includes questions about issues such as voter ID, war powers, immigration, and tariffs. The candidate for CA-30, Laura Friedman, stated that rising costs are causing Californians to feel more pressure on housing and healthcare, and that the Affordable Care Act tax relief should be reinstated. She also suggested that the federal government should not be playing a role in telling states how to conduct their own elections. Friedman also expressed her opposition to efforts that make it harder for eligible Americans to vote and that she supports immigration reform that benefits both parties. She urged Congress to pass legislation to secure the border and an immigration system that works.
