The Freedom of the City of London, which was once only open to British or Commonwealth citizens, has now been expanded to include anyone from any other nationality. The Freedom of Citizens is also a tradition, with notable figures such as Florence Nightingale and William Shakespeare. The freedom of Citizens of the World also includes women.
