Sheehan takes pitch in right direction, sees results from mechanical tweaks

Emmet Sheehan won his first game of the season in a 13-6 victory over the Nationals, despite allowing four runs in five innings. Despite a fluctuating velocity and a lacklustlustre performance, the Dodgers' bats made a significant contribution. Manager Dave Roberts praised Sheehen's efforts to give the team length and control his pitch. Sheehhan threw only four pitches that registered 95 mph or harder in his 30 career appearances. The team hopes to use this as a key part of the rotation this season, as long as he can provide the team with enough length.
