Man seriously hurt after shooting in south Phoenix

A man is in the hospital with serious injuries after being shot in a neighborhood near Seventh and Southern avenues in south Phoenix. The incident occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. The area will be closed for some time as police investigate what led to the shooting.
