'Moral failure': Pressure mounts as Congress prepares to leave town despite urgent DHS stalemate

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been partially shut down for over a month, with Congress preparing to leave town and making no progress towards reopening it. Democrats shut down DHS on February 14 in protest over the deaths of anti-ICE agitators Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Despite this, Congress has shown no urgency to address the issue. The American Federation of Government Employees President, Everett Kelley, called the partial shutdown a "moral failure" and urged Congress to pass a measure to reopen DHS and pay the unpaid TSA and FEMA workers.
