The four Artemis II astronauts completed their first public remarks after completing NASA's first lunar mission in over 50 years. The astronauts, Commander Reid Wiseman, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen, and pilot Victor Glover, became the first humans to see the entire far side of the moon, which permanently faces away from Earth. The mission also set a new record for the farthest distance humans have traveled from Earth, traveling 252,756 miles, breaking the previous record set by the Apollo 13 crew in 1970. The crew also captured stunning photos of the lunar surface, which will help researchers understand how the moon formed and its evolution. The next mission will be called Artemis III, with plans to land on the moon in mid-2027.
